birds, botany and bugs - a natural history walk through the heavens valley 6.30Pm on thursday 16 july
Local ecologists Simon Pickering and Cathy Beeching will guide this gentle ramble through the natural history of the Heavens Valley, stopping to tell their fascinating facts and stories about the animals, birds, insects and plants you will encounter.
It will be an opportunity to learn so much more about the Heavens Valley as they discuss what the plants and grasses can tell us about the past management of the valley and how the land might be managed in the future for wildlife.
Please wear stout footwear as parts of the valley can be muddy and the ground is very uneven and steep in parts. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
We will be meeting at the Bowbridge Lane entrance and parking around there is limited so please leave in plenty of time.
We expect the event to last between one hour 30 minutes and two hours.
We have tried to keep the pricing of this event as low as possible but we do need to cover our costs and so we would also encourage everyone to donate as well, if you can. We have lots of costs involved in running the Heavens Valley CBS - everyday costs like insurance and all our systems so all our brilliant volunteers can carrying doing their fantastic work. Thank you!
We would like this event to be open for all. We have a number of free tickets available so if you’d like to take part but the entrance fee would be unaffordable right now, please contact info@heavensvalley.org.uk
Come along and find out more about what makes your Valley so special!
Please note - if the weather is poor, we will reschedule the walk for some time in August.
